On April 30, a guest lecture titled «Challenges of Rural Development and Prospects for a Sustainable Future: International Experience» was held at Sumy National Agrarian University.
The honored guest and speaker was a distinguished international scholar – Honorary Professor Guy M. Robinson, who represents the University of Adelaide (Australia) and the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom).
During the lecture, key challenges currently faced by rural areas worldwide were addressed. In particular, the discussion focused on responses to climate change, the prospects of the so-called «forest renaissance», as well as ways to ensure food security in the context of global crises and instability.
Students majoring in «Geodesy and Land Management» actively participated in the event. They had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the field of sustainable territorial development, explore international approaches, and engage in professional discussion.
Overall, the participants gained valuable experience communicating with a leading researcher and were able to ask relevant questions, contributing to the expansion of their academic and professional outlook.
