Hackathon: «Ukrainian Scientific Community for Soil Quality in Ukraine»
Organizer: Department of Geodesy and Land Management of the Faculty of Law of Sumy National University.
Participants: student community of four higher education institutions of Ukraine in Sumy, Kharkiv and Odessa.
Hackathon: “Ukrainian Scientific Community for Soil Quality in Ukraine” is aimed at encouraging students and staff of universities in Ukraine and the EU to generate ideas and find solutions to overcome the problem of soil quality in areas affected by the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, integrating citizen science based on the use of digital tools, became a logical continuation of the program “Training of experts in soil assessment and restoration of territories affected by hostilities” initiated by Sumy National University.

The result of the work was the presentation by the teams of their own vision of restoring the quality of soils affected by hostilities. The teams consisted of students from different specialties: ecology, law, earth sciences, geodesy and land management, which allowed for a comprehensive approach to solving the task, exchanging knowledge and experience in different fields.
The event was organized at the initiative of the Web2Learn team and is related to the DigiEduHack tasks developed within the framework of the GROMADA partnership "Solving military threats to water resources in Ukraine" and "Ukrainian academic community in the legal aspects of citizen-generated data".
