The event was timed to coincide with International Human Rights Day and became part of the International Human Rights Conference “Decade 2014–2024. Reclaiming Human Rights. Preserving Democracy”.
The forum began with a video address by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets, who welcomed the forum participants and outlined the main tasks.
The representative of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in Sumy Region Tetyana Myronenko drew attention to the challenges faced by the region during the war. In her speech, she touched upon all the most sensitive aspects of the activity and outlined the priorities for the next year.
