On October 16, 2025, an open lecture titled “Bibliometric Systems as a Tool for Monitoring and Supporting Research” was held as part of the academic course “Methodology of Scientific Research and Upholding the Principles of Academic Integrity.” The lecture was delivered by Olena Ivanivna Rybina, Candidate of Economic Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Geodesy and Land Management, for master’s students of the educational program “Geodesy and Land Management” (group GTZ-2501m).
During the event, the audience learned about the capabilities of the leading scientometric platforms Web of Science and Scopus for tracking scientific activity, selecting journals, and verifying the quality of scientific publications.
Special attention was paid to working with the VOSviewer software—from formulating search queries in Scopus and exporting data to constructing and interpreting maps of co-authorship, co-citation, and keywords.
Following the lecture, the students received methodological materials and a checklist titled “From Query to Visualization,” which will help them master the tools of bibliometric analysis for their own scientific research.
