A guest lecture on the topic “Basic social assistance in Ukraine: renewal, digitalization, targeting” was held at the Faculty of Law of the SNAU.
The lecturer of the event was Svitlana Alyushyna, a social advisor of the Charitable Foundation “Rokada”, who has significant experience in practical work in the field of social protection of the population and the provision of targeted assistance to vulnerable categories of citizens.
The meeting considered modern approaches to reforming the social support system in Ukraine, which involve the transition from mass distribution of resources to a more targeted and effective mechanism of assistance to those who really need it. Ms. Svitlana focused on the importance of humanity and flexibility of social policy, because it is these principles that determine the level of trust of citizens in state institutions.
A special place in the discussion was occupied by the digitalization of the social sphere. The processes of implementing electronic platforms, automation of application submission and registration of beneficiaries of assistance, which ensure transparency, efficiency and convenience of interaction of citizens with social services, were considered.
The lecturer also drew attention to the role of public and charitable organizations in the implementation of social policy, in particular in cooperation with state structures in the conditions of martial law and post-war reconstruction.
Students actively participated in the discussion, asked questions about the criteria for granting assistance, control mechanisms, and also discussed practical aspects of using digital tools in the field of social security. This format of communication allowed not only to deepen knowledge of the discipline, but also to see how theoretical principles of law are implemented in real cases of social work.
The Faculty of Law of the SNAU expresses sincere gratitude to Ms. Svitlana Alyushina for a meaningful lecture, high professionalism and desire to share experience with future specialists. Such meetings are an important element in the formation of students’ practical competence and contribute to the awareness of the social responsibility of a lawyer in modern society.
